ABOUT THE MERCEDES CLC 200 ENGINE
The CLC 200 sits within the CL203 generation, a short production run from 2008 to 2011. It uses the M271 engine, a 1.8-litre supercharged four-cylinder petrol unit. This engine is a key part of the CLC-Class range and is shared with other models of its era, known for its supercharged delivery.
We continue to rebuild and replace M256 engines for every CLC 200 on the road.

M256 (R190, 2023–present)
A 3.0-litre inline-six petrol mild-hybrid engine fitted to the CLC 200 from 2023 to present. The M256 features an integrated starter-generator (ISG) and electric auxiliary compressor, making it a more modern and efficient design than the older M276 V6. We replace timing chains, bearings, water pump and gaskets as standard on every M256 rebuild.
