Mercedes SLC43 AMG Oil Leaks & Coolant System Wear (M256 I6)
The M256 is a sophisticated 3.0-litre inline-six with an integrated starter-generator and electric auxiliary compressor — a more modern and efficient design than the older M276 V6. We replace timing chains, bearings, water pump and gaskets as standard on every M256 rebuild.
Because the SLC43 AMG uses a completely different engine family from the V8 M178 fitted to the SLC 63 and GT 63 S, parts and rebuild specifications don't cross over between them.

ABOUT THE MERCEDES SLC43 AMG ENGINE
The SLC43 AMG was the performance flagship of the SLC range, offered throughout the model's single-generation R172 production run from 2016 to 2020. It uses the M276 — a 3.0-litre biturbo V6 petrol engine, distinct from the four-cylinder units fitted to the rest of the SLC line-up. The SLC was the successor to the SLK and was discontinued after this generation with no direct replacement, making the SLC43 AMG a relatively rare and sought-after model in the Mercedes line-up. The SLC43 AMG is no longer in production, but we continue to rebuild and replace engines for every one still on the road.
